New York State Parliament Approves Gay Marriage Bill

New York State Parliament Approves Gay Marriage Bill - The American legislators in the state of New York on Wednesday approved the bill allowing gay marriage. The bill would still face a vote in the state Senate on Friday.

Democratic Party who dominated parliament was held a vote with the results 80-63 support the marriage equality bill. Governor Andrew Cuomo who was installed in the first year is the man behind the bill introducing. This is the third time New York's parliament passed a gay marriage bill in recent years.


Several members from both Republicans and Democrats said their religious beliefs to support banning of gay marriage bill.

Differences of opinion on gay marriage have become one of the most contentious social issues in American states ahead of presidential and congressional elections in 2012 (Read: Coming to the U.S. Presidential Election, Obama Often Do Tweet).
